A LITTLE VILLAGE ON THE TOMORROW RIVER

picWelcome to Nelsonville, a village named after Jerome Nelson, an Englishman who in 1855 bought land along the Tomorrow River, and then in 1868 built a dam and started a sawmill. That mill featured a Woodward Governor turbine, which was ordered in 1917 for the Jackson Milling Company. Read more...

Nelsonville has long been home to farming, and included many businesses over the years from Faivre Implement, to Waller's Market, to the still present Duane's Body Shop. The consistent draw for this area is the Tomorrow River, a 31 mile long, class 1 trout stream that offers great fishing and canoeing experiences.

pic Nelsonville today is a thriving and growing village. The Rising Star Mill hosts many social events and an annual art show, Ruby Coffee Roasters is a nationaly recognized coffee roaster (with a beautiful tasting room), and Alchemy Concrete is an innovative concrete provider that specializes in decorative concrete solutions from countertops to patios, and more. We are also home to Judah Studios, an art studio featuring local artists, and the Tomorrow River Homestead, a former rest home turned art studio with community lodging. Many are familiar with the retro gas station in the village which is home to ZoroPhoto, a local photography studio which specializes in traditional and editorialized photography.
